We just finished a unit on space. We worked on division using astronaut bears and rockets. We did a science experiment with a chemical reaction that launched a rocket. Opening Day!
Today we celebrated the Brewers home opener. We practiced before and after numbers using jerseys. We made words using the letters in BASEBALL. We also talked about the the Sausage race. We wrote down what we thought the sausages say to each other. Check out our jerseys and bobbleheads hanging in the hall.

Igloo
We would like to create an igloo for our classroom. It will take approximately 155 gallon milk jugs to create. The jugs MUST be thoroughly washed out with soap and water and dried. With your help we can accomplish this big task. I'm already collecting jugs. Thanks for your help.

H is for hats
This week we are exploring hats and the letter Hh. The kids have been working really hard on our latest class book What do You do With a Hat Like This? When the book is finished it will be sent home for you to see. Don't forget Friday is hat day.
I have one last small tidbit. This morning we were talking about the strange weather we've been having. One of the girls summed it up best: "The best part is God kept everyone safe!"

Merry Christmas! On Friday the
21st we had our Christmas Party. A huge thanks to everyone. The class made recycled Christmas cards, played pin the star on the Christmas tree, played Christmas Bingo, made a christian ornament, and learned about the candy cane. I was so shocked to unwrap a dvd/vcr player for the classroom. It was such a thoughtful gift that was really needed. Thank you so much!

The third week in December brings lots of excitement to our classroom. Most notably we are practicing for our Christmas Eve service. Listening to the class express their faith in song is breathtaking.
This week we have lots of cool centers as well. Probably our favorite is gift spelling.
Above we are using stockings to make patterns. Below we are reading ig books, and counting dimes.
